For the redesign of the lobby and entryway at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, Herrick Goldman, of HG Lighting Design (Brooklyn, NY), required a compact yet powerful LED fixture. The BRICKBLASTER Pro RGBW and WWCW were selected due to their compact size, high intensity output and theatrical grade DMX512 dimming. At 4” cubed, and an amazing 50 watts, the BRICKBLASTER Pro can fit into places most fixtures can’t.
The compact size of the BRICKBLASTER Pro allowed the fixtures to fit into hidden alcoves throughout the lobby while track mounted fixtures were utilized in the main hallway, which has an extremely low ceiling height of 8 feet. Additionally, variable color temperature white BRICKBLASTERs were used to illuminate the main entryway and the Madame Tussauds logo, as task lighting for the ticket counter and to provide the main source of lighting for use by the staff photographers.
The lobby at Madame Tussauds boasts a “paparazzi” theme and Herrick strategically programmed the fixtures to wash the area in red light while the white channel of the RGBW fixtures strobes to simulate camera flashes. Additional fixtures were hidden and are used to generate ambiance in the space.
"We installed the WWCWs at the box office. This area is open to daylight on two sides and we have recently needed to reprogram the fixtures for a dimmer setting as the employees complained that they were too bright", explains Herrick.
The BRICKBLASTER Pro RGBW contains red, green, blue and white LEDs to allow it to generate saturated colors along with pastel and white light tones and the WWCW allows for dynamic color temperature adjustment from 2800 to 6500 kelvin. The BRICKBLASTER series can be mounted using c-clamps, directly to most standard 120VAC track or to DMX data track (which provides full speed DMX512 control and power in a single track). The BRICKBLASTER series is ideal for use in entertainment applications along with themed environment, club, museum, studio and architectural installations.

Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport recognized a need for upgrading the parking garage lighting that would optimize energy savings, while continuing to provide a safe and well-lit environment for its passengers. Analyzing multiple products and their performance to find the best solution, they selected LED fixtures from Cooper Lighting, an industry leader committed to delivering innovative products and driving transformational technology in the lighting industry.
Funded by the City of Atlanta Green Loan Fund, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials decided to replace each of the 4,342 210-watt metal-halide fixtures with Cooper Lighting’s 80-watt McGraw-Edison Valet LED fixtures in its north and south parking decks. This decision would not only lead to greater energy-efficiency, but also cost savings of almost half a million dollars each year. According to the City of Atlanta’s Office of Sustainability, the Airport’s financial and environmental partner, the carbon reduction associated with the project is equivalent to taking 500 cars off of the road.
“Replacing parking garage lighting with more energy-efficient options is one of the most practical upgrades a city can make to save energy, reduce costs and lower CO2 emissions,” said Mark Eubanks, President, Cooper Lighting. “This project has been a great opportunity to showcase how Cooper’s innovative LED products can increase overall efficiencies and performance to provide a safe and well-lit environment, all while helping the City of Atlanta save almost $500,000 each year in energy costs.”
